One of the most frequent questions I’m asked is ” what does the Tooele housing market look like this fall”? I would generally say “who knows”, but with the autumn season just a few weeks away, I think I’d better come up with a better answer than that.
After last weeks post about the state of home sales out here, I’ve had even more interest in where I think the home market is right now. So…………… Here are a few thoughts I have on this falls housing market in Tooele County Utah.
Tooele Utah Fall Real Estate Market Overview
The real estate market fluctuates based on supply and demand. It continually adjusts from year to year and even from season to season. October and November are generally pretty good months. The weather doesn’t slow down showings, and it’s not cold enough yet for people to want to sit around the fireplace and stay warm. On the other hand if your current home or apartment doesn’t have a fireplace, that might propel you out the the door to see if you can find a place that does.
No matter the empatis, If you are thinking about entering the market, below is information on the Tooele Utah fall real estate market that could be helpful.
The Fall Market
- Fall historically remains an active selling season. Home buyers try to finalize their property purchase before the winter, the holiday season, and year end (to take advantage of tax benefits). Interest rates are also extremely low, making home purchases more affordable. This season, many communities, like those below
are facing low inventory levels. This might be due to less foreclosure listings, owners waiting for values to increase, or owners falsely believing that real estate is not selling. Whatever the cause, it is causing low supply while demand is high. The impact is a lot of activity for new listings, competing offers on properly priced listings, and properties going under agreement within minimal time frames.
